  Norman Conquest summary Norman Invasion 1066 Impact of the Norman Conquest on the English Language After the defeat of Anglo Saxons, Anglo-Normans occupied England.  Their rough timeline is between 1066----1500. But before settling in England, Normans attacked France and took them hostage. French people quietly gave their northern areas then after Norman people took advantage and married their ladies. Normans were robbers. They had lived for a specific time in France and in this way Normans brought French language, culture, civilization and strength there. Normans were fearless people. Normans were brave and wild. Normans ruled from 1066 in England.
